SUMMER EVENTS AT THE WOOD
Lift access to Kirkwood's Mountain Bike Park is open on Saturdays (10am to 4pm) and Sundays (10am to 3pm) as well as select holiday or special event days. For other events and great times at Kirkwood this summer, check out the events calendar below.

9.4.10 Thin Air Chili Cookoff featuring Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers!
Toast the end of another great summer at Kirkwood with us as we host the annual Thin Air Chili Cookoff on Saturday September 4 from 12pm to 5pm on the Village Plaza. World famous blues band, Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers will join us for the Chili Cookoff this year providing live music throughout the afternoon!
Chili chefs from around Northern California are welcome to compete for the cash prize and can register to compete by calling 209.258.7516. Entry is free - simply meet our minimum chili requirements to join in the fun. Breweries and wineries interested in showcasing their product for tasting can also call 209.258.7516 to secure booth space.
9.4.10 30th Annual Kirkwood 5K/10K Run
Race Day Registration on the Village Plaza 8:15am to 9:00am
Races Start at 9:00am
Run at a Higher Level this Labor Day weekend - join the Tahoe Mountain Milers, Sage Brush Stompers, and Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department for the 30th Annual Kirkwood 5K/10K on Saturday September 4! Featuring distances the entire family can enjoy, this annual event features 5K, 10K, 1/2 Mile and 1 Mile Kids Fun Runs, and age divisions to represent kids and adults of all ages. Early registration prior to August 21 is $30, general pre-registration between August 22 and September 2 is $35, and race day registration is $40. Youth races are $10. In honor of our final summer weekend, the Kirkwood Mountain Bike Park will offer extended hours this Labor Day for your mountain biking excitement. Hours for the Mountain Bike Park will be as follows:
Saturday September 4: 10am to 4pm
Sunday September 5: 10am to 3pm
Monday September 6: 10am to 3pm
9.5.10 Tahoe Adventure Film Festival : Kirkwood Tour Stop!
Check out the latest movies the action sports industry has to offer as the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival makes it's way to Kirkwood. Doors open at 7pm in Red Cliffs Day Lodge upstairs from the General Store with movies starting at 8pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. 9.18 - 9.19.10 Fall Mountain Bike Race Series
The lifts might be closing on Labor Day, but we'll gear up for one last hurrah in the Kirkwood Mountain Bike Park before the snow flies! Join us for the Fall Mountain Bike Race Series as we work with Team Bigfoot to host a second installment of this year's Kirkwood Nine to Five and 6 Hour Super D. The second installment of this year's Nine to Five will take a different course than the one in August, wherein competitors will make as many cross country laps of the 5.2 mile course as they can in 8 hours. Individual and teams are welcome! On Sunday, the 6 Hour Super D will use some gravity assistance from Chairs 1 and 2 for competitors looking to mix it up on this amazing Super D course combining a few small hill climbs with lots of downhill.
