WINTER 2010 EVENTS AT KIRKWOOD

FEBRUARY 2010
2.7.10 USASA Slopestyle
Show off your skills in this slopestyle competition hosted by the USASA! Skiers and riders of all ages are welcome to compete, spectactors can catch a glimpse of all the action from the Village Plaza. Those looking to participate should sign up at Red Cliffs Day Lodge between 8:00am and 9:45am on the day of the event, $30. Race tickets will be available at the time of registration for competitors at a discounted rate of $40 for ages 13+ and $15 for kids 12 and under. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each category.

2.7.10 XC Skate Clinic
Improve your cross country skills with this skate clinic hosted by World Champion, Debbi Waldear. Featuring Rossignol demo equipment and advice from top Rossignol instructors, this clinic is a great deal at just $30. Late registration on the day-of will be $35. Clinic begins at 10am.

2.12.10 - 2.15.10 Amador County Canned Food Drive
Support the local community during this President's Holiday Weekend. Look for collection bins at the General Store, in the Season Pass Office, at the Kirkwood Community Association, and at the Lodging Check In Desk in The Lodge at Kirkwood. Popular items to donate included peanut butter, soups or stews, and oatmeal. Any assistance is greatly appreciated - nonperishable canned food items only, please.

2.21.10 Soup and Shoe
Enjoy a fun, guided snowshoe hike along the crest of the Sierra... Complete with lunch! Guides will provide soup and bread at the rest stop along the way. $35. Rentals available for an additional $5.

2.27.10 Sunset Snowshoe Trek
Take in the beautiful colors of a High Sierra sunset on this guided snowshoe hike. $20. Snowshoe rentals available for an additional $5.

2.27.10 Full Moon Snowshoe Trek
There's nothing more spectacular than the view of the High Sierra as seen under the light of a full moon. See for yourself! $25. Snowshoe rentals available for an additional $5.

3.6.10 Sunset Snowshoe Trek
Take in the beautiful colors of a High Sierra sunset on this guided snowshoe hike. $20. Snowshoe rentals available for an additional $5.

3.27.10 Kirkwood Ski Education Foundation Presents the 2nd Annual Head to Head Challenge

3.27.10 - 3.28.10 Rail Jam Invitational
Look for more details to come soon on this great event! Local skiers and riders are invited to join us for this rail jam competition after-hours from 4:30pm to 7:00pm by the light of Kirkwood's snow cat fleet. A cash purse will go to the winning contestant with various prizes and other swag to be awarded to other top place finishers. More details to come soon including registration fees and details, official prize list, etc.

APRIL 2010
4.2.10 - 4.4.10 Kirkwood Jammin' XVII
Don't miss out on The Wood's annual spring break party! Join us each day for a series of events that begin at 10:00am. We'll have dummy downhill races, Lemans-style ski races, slopestyle competitions, rail jams, and the usual springtime fun to make the weekend one you'll never forget. Top athletes in each of our events will win prizes... And the top place winners of our slopestyle competition will win CASH!
