SKIERS
Back by popular demand for 2010/11! Mini Rippers (ages 3-4)
The Mini Rippers is a ski/snowplay program for our 3 and 4 year old guests. Designed specifically to be a fun introduction to the sport for first time skiers and those still refining their beginning skills. Each day is filled with fun activities, a ski lesson, and snow play. All children must be fully potty trained and it is essential that they are willing to learn. Is your child ready to learn? Click here for some general guidelines.
The learning objectives for this age group are to familiarize the child with the equipment and snow environment, build the skills necessary to be successful, transfer that base to a skiing environment and most importantly to have FUN! More advanced children will move up to the Little Rippers program and will start exploring the mountain as soon as they are able.
While getting a fantastic age and skill specific lesson, your child may also take part in any of the following activities as a Mini Ripper: arts and crafts, sledding, a walk around the village, watching a movie, and snowplay. Please note that this is not a day care program. Reservations are recommended as space is available on a first come, first served basis and the program will likely be subject to frequent sell out.
A clearly legible copy of the birth certificate is required as proof of age for all three year old children.
Please keep in mind that the Mini Ripper program is physically demanding and not advised for timid children. Each child must be ready to participate in a group setting without parents in attendance.
Little Rippers (ages 4-6)
This program is designed specifically for 4 - 6 year old skiers, providing a fun, safe learning environment for first timers through those wanting to take on all of Kirkwood's legendary terrain. Group sizes are kept small so that each child gets the individual attention that they require.
