The Cross country is now open daily from 9am - 5pm with 55 kilometers of machine groom trail with skating and snowshoe lanes. Upper trails at Schneider Camp are open to Coyote Pass, the top of the trail system. There is also 10 kilometers of easy terrain open in Kirkwood Meadow. Need new gear? Saturday Feb 25th - Join us for the Sunset Snowshoe, enjoy the colors of sunset and the alpenglow on this guided evening trek!
If you want to start your cross country adventure from the Village area, stop by Expedition Kirkwood and we'll rent you some snowshoes so you can hike across the meadow to the XC Center where they'll switch out your snowshoes for skis at no extra charge! Return at either location.

Women’s Ski Skate Clinic – Saturday March 3rd
Lead by World Masters Champion Debbi Waldear, this clinic teaches about the transformation of the body position and the use of energy. Focus is on improving on skills and learning the natural more centered way of skating. Open to women of all abilities. Clinic starts at 10:00am, pre-registration is advised. Cost: $30 pre registration/ $35 on the day. Discounted trail passes and rentals will be available for $10 each. Call 209.258.7249 to make a reservation.
Winter Trails Day 2012 - Free beginner lessons, discounted trail passes, demos and more...
A nation wide event which aims to increase public exposure to the sports of snowshoeing and cross country skiing. FREE snowshoe demos will be available through out the day. Kirkwood Cross Country will be offering FREE mini beginning ski lessons! Free package includes lesson and equipment rental. Discounted trail passes will be available to those that wish to ski after the lesson. Lessons run on the hour every hour from 10am through 2pm, reservations are required. Trail passes will be discounted to $16.

Ski Skate Clinics - Lead by Debbi Waldear
Skating techniques have been revolutionized in the past few years. Join a clinic to learn all about the transformation of the body position and the use of energy. Debbi is an eight time World Master Champion and winner of The Great American Ski Chase, her recent experience working with the U.S. Ski Team coaches gives her the cutting edge on what’s new. Guided Snowshoe Treks
Full Moon Snowshoe Treks - Hoot 'n Howl at the Moon!
Join us for our monthly guided snowshoe trek under the light of the full moon. There is nothing more unique and beautiful than the reflected light of the moon on the snow. Come hoot and howl at the moon! Arrive at 6:00pm. Reservations are required. Cost $25 (plus $5 snowshoe rental)

Sierra Crest Snowshoe - A guided hike into the backcountry beyond the trails of Kirkwood to the high Sierra.
This hike climbs to the crest of the Sierra for unbelievable views - it’s a trek not to miss. The journey is open to all levels of experience and physical fitness. Typically we break up into several small groups. This excursion is offered once a month through March. Cost: $30 (includes trail pass and guided hike), plus $5 to rent snowshoes. Arrive at 10:00AM, return by 3:00PM. Reservations are required.

Sunset Snowshoe Treks - Experience the Alpenglow....
Enjoy the colors of the sunset while hiking along the trails. As the sun sets to the west, we will enjoy the alpenglow on Red Cliffs to the east. Reservations required. Start time 4:30PM. Cost: $15 (plus $5 for snowshoe rental).
