Beyond Boundaries

 

California’s only all mountain education program designed to expand your knowledge of mountain exploration.  Expedition: Kirkwood takes skiers and riders beyond their boundaries and teaches them new ways to navigate the mountain.

Expedition Programs

• Skiing Expeditions These courses developed with the help of Rossignol are designed to give you the skill set necessary to feel confident on the entire mountain
• Boarding Expeditions Kirkwood has partnered with Burton to create these programs to help speed up the learning curve in snowboarding
• Custom Expeditions designed for groups wanting their own unique adventure
• Clinics/Camps 1 and 2 Day courses designed to take your riding to the next level with clinics available for skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers. Women Specific and Burton LTR programs also available.
• Private Guides available for those looking to improve their all mountain skiing/riding skills or simply wanting to see the mountain from an insiders perspective

Backcountry Programs

• Beacon Basin offers the first avalanche transceiver training facility in California.
• Powder Cat Tours on Red Cliffs and Martin Point
• Backcountry Awareness Clinics which teach winter enthusiasts the skills they need to be safe while exploring backcountry terrain
• Intro to Backcountry Touring One and Two day courses are a new offering this season.
• Avalanche Level 1 Courses Kirkwood is excited to once again offer this course this season.

• Expedition Kickoff Weekend Dec. 15th & 16th Join the Expedition Guides and Freeskiing Diva Lynsey Dyer for this perfect opportunity for getting the muscle memory back and ensuring that you stretch your legs and other muscles properly to ensure a long healthy ski season.
• Telemark Festival Mar. 8th & 9th Join Expedition Kirkwood top Telemark and Backcountry guides for a weekend of basic and advance telemark clinics, Backcountry touring, telemark and backcountry gear demos, swag giveaways, a BBQ and much more!
