Accounting
The accounting vault provides change orders, cash banks, cash expense
reimbursements, deposit bags/slips and employee paycheck cashing. On
and off premise vouchers are also issued out of the vault. Accounting
also maintains the ATM’s balances deposits to the bank statements
and provide daily audits on all revenue departments. Money handling
experience, counting accuracy and attention to detail are required.
Auditors: Auditing
daily reports and performing various
office duties. Cashier experience
required
Vault Cashier: Accurately give change to each location
and record money. Cashier experience required.
Cross Country Center
Our cross country trail network is one of the most extensive in the region
and one of the most beautiful anywhere. Scenic, well maintained trails
for all abilities cover 80 kilometers and nearly 4000 acres. Lessons,
rentals, snowshoes and a Nordic retail shop are available to skiers
daily.
Personnel: Providing
guest service and assisting guests
with equipment selection and maintenance.
Must be an intermediate to advanced
Nordic skier. Experience preferred
Instructors: Must be current on new cross country
techniques and teaching methods. Applicants should be prepared to work
in all weather conditions. Must be patient, friendly and customer service
oriented.
Day Care
Mini Mountain, is a licensed child care facility, for children 2-6 years
of age. Children at Mini Mountain have the opportunity to be
creative while painting, building and meeting new friends! Our
center is full of books, toys, art materials and when weather allows
children go outside for snow play! All staff members at the center
must interact and work well with children, as well as their parents. Teachers
and Aides must be reliable and trustworthy. Employment is dependent
upon a background check and schedule may vary due to enrollment.
Teacher’s Aid: Assist
in the creation and instruction of
fun, age appropriate activities,
taking reservations, checking in
children, cashing out and preparing
meals.
Teachers: Create and instruct fun, age appropriate

and preparing meals. A minimum of 12 ECE units is required.
Facilities Maintenance
There are several base locations at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and the
facilities maintenance staff are responsible for their condition. This
is a low customer contact position with plenty of physical labor required.
Facilities Staff:
Removing trash, cleaning bathrooms
and shoveling snow. May also include
various restaurant duties. Training
provided
Food And Beverage
Kirkwood has seven food and beverage establishments and is always looking
for great people to help us provide exceptional service and terrific
food.
Wait staff and Bartenders: These
positions are very limited and applicants
should have a work history of outstanding
guest service preferably within the
food service industry. Some positions
will require staff be over the age
of 18 years others over the age of
21.
Bussers: Side work, helping wait staff, clearing tables
and rearranging furniture.
Cashiers: Answering questions, accurately totaling
the amount guests owe for their meals and providing change. Taking
orders at the register and sometimes assisting in the kitchen. Stocking
of condiments and paper goods. Some outside work at BBQ’s may
be possible.
Prep Cooks and Dishwashers: No experience necessary
but helpful. Assist line cooks and chefs with food preparation and
sanitization of the kitchen area.
Line Cooks: Experienced line cooks for fast paced
restaurants and cafe’s.
Guest Services
Guest Services staff work together to promote a friendly atmosphere and
provide our guests with accurate information, empathetic problem solving,
and a “can do” attitude that meets or exceeds expectations. Guest
Services staffs the Administrative front desk on weekends, the Guest
services Information Desk, Ski & Board check, Lost and Found, and
event registration and ticket selling.
Responsibilities and duties include overseeing our locker systems, setting
up and tearing down of flags daily, collecting information from our suggestion
boxes, conducting resort wide surveys, and distributing flyers, snow
reports, event collateral and the Kirkwood times.
Resort Hosts/Hostesses: These
are the people who greet the guests
as they enter the resort. They
provide staff for the guest services
desk, the lost and found, and ski & board
checks. They are responsible
for providing accurate information
and collateral, resolving locker issues,
and working with supervisors and managers
to resolve guest issues.
Front Desk/Snow Reporter: The front desk/snow reporter
is responsible for getting up early and going to work every morning
at 5am to get the Daily Ski Report done. Some other responsibilities
include answering the phones, general office duties, and communicating
general breaking information, such as closed roads or the amount of
snowfall, to guests and other employees.
“Hot Sots”:Our “Hot
Shots” are staff with superior communication skills, the interest
and (a) technical skill set(s) to help relieve operational overflow
on peak days. These people are recruited as part-timers.
General Store
The General Store features a post office, been and wine, fresh produce
groceries, newspapers, fresh coffee and fresh food to go.
Staff: Stocking,
cash handling, and providing guest
service. Applicants must be customer
service oriented and self motivated.

Housekeeping
This department is a back of the house operation, but plays an important
part in a guest’s overall lodging experience and impression of
the Kirkwood Mountain Resort. The housekeeping department is responsible
for cleaning all of the condo style complexes on the rental program
which range from hotel style to a four bedroom unit.
House Attendants: Stocking units, equipment maintenance, trash/linen
removal and assisting housekeepers as needed. Applicants must be professional
and have a positive attitude. Must have a valid drivers license. DMV
record check required.
Housekeepers: Cleaning
and stocking units. Applicants must
be motivated and customer service oriented.
Experience preferred
Lift Operations
The Lift Operations department operates the chair lifts and surface tows
which transport skiers and riders up the mountain. The employees with
in the Lift Operations must safely operate the machinery and load or
unload passengers from the chairs. Must be willing and able to work
in all weather conditions. Lift Operations also operates the Slide
Mountain Tubing Hill, this is a lift accessed tubing hill for children
and adults of all ages!
Lift Operators: Operate
uphill transportation systems for
guest. Shoveling and area maintenance
as necessary. Must be customer service
oriented. Training provided.
Ticket Checkers: Work outdoors checking tickets at
lift locations. Must be customer service oriented. Training provided.
Tube Park Attendants: Operate
uphill transportation system for guests and their tubes. Some shoveling
and area maintenance necessary. Applicants must be customer service
oriented. Training provided. Great opportunity to have fun working
outdoors where everyone comes to play after skiing or riding weekends
and holidays only.
Lodging
Kirkwood Vacations is the rental program at Kirkwood. Housed in 8 different
buildings are 160+ individually owned condominiums, which are listed
on the program. Kirkwood Vacations manages these condos for the owners;
we take reservations, check in guests, perform the monthly accounting,
maintain the condos, and perform all the Housekeeping duties you would
expect to find in a hotel. We employ about 25 full time staff during
the winter season.
Reservationists and Front
Desk Clerks: Answering phones,
making reservations and providing
a guest service. Applicants must
be discreet, professional and customer
service oriented. Computer experience
preferred.
Parking and Transportation
Kirkwood’s arriving guests are first faced with where to easily
and accessibly park their car. Our parking attendants help direct all
incoming traffic to the appropriate parking lots and spaces and give
any information regarding our resort and its facilities.
Parking Attendants: Are
responsible for greeting guests, parking
and directing traffic, setup and breakdown
of traffic control equipment, picking
up trash on roadway and assisting in
snow removal of company vehicles. Must
be customer service oriented and willing
to work in all weather conditions.
Shuttle Drivers: Transport guests throughout the Kirkwood
Valley. Must be focused on guest and vehicle safety and be able to
drive a vehicle in all weather conditions. Applicants must be friendly,
dependable and customer service oriented as well has have a valid drivers
license. DMV record check required.
Rental Shops
Kirkwood has two equipment rental locations situated in our day lodges.
These full services rental locations offer the latest in ski and snowboard
equipment. We also have a Performance Demo Center which carries the
latest and greatest in equipment to demo for a day. Full tuning and
repairs are provided for all boards and skis. Rental clerks and technicians
must be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, customer oriented and able to
work in a fast paced environment.
Cashiers: Cash handling
and providing guest service in a
high volume environment. Applicants
must be friendly, dependable and
customer service oriented. Must have
cash handling experience and will
be cross trained as Rental Attendants
and Technicians.
Rental Attendants: Assisting guests with equipment
selection and fitting, will also be trained as Rental Technicians
.Rental Technicians: Ski and snowboard
equipment maintenance. Applicants must have good communication skills
and be customer service oriented. Experience is preferred. Training provided.
Retail
Kirkwood Sports is a one stop specialty retailer and the only mountain

all in store fittings. At Kirkwood Mountain Sports we offer our
on snow Salomon Performance Demo Center . Here is where we offer our
entire ski and board selection to help ensure that you make the
right decision to fit your needs. This team is committed to the guests
complete satisfaction. We ride what we sell 100+ days a year we are not
based in a warehouse in Kansas
Sales Associates: The single most important element
in our success is the quality and professionalism of our people. We invest
time and money to ensure you are provided with the tools you need to
represent yourself and Kirkwood Sports as one of the premier on mountain
retailers in specialty sports. You will be hard-pressed to find a crew
anywhere with as much experience and knowledge as we have.
Our guests expect the best from us. We expect even more of you. You will
find our employment packages are solid and performance-driven. The nature
of our product and location reflects a demanding customer. Therefore,
a positive, enthusiastic attitude is a prerequisite for all employees.
Flexibility, attention to appearance and personal hygiene are just some

Security
Our Security Staff provides security for resort property, employees and
guests. They must investigate and aid local law enforcement in traffic
accidents and other criminal activity. They must check all locks and
doors and inspect the resort facilities for safety and security issues.
The Security staff has a great deal of contact with the general public,
therefore customer service skills are a must!

Kirkwood Ski and Board School
Kirkwood Ski & Snowboard Schools:
The Children’s and Adult Ski & Board Schools are seeking outgoing and enthusiastic individuals who are looking to grow themselves personally and professionally. Applicants should be patient, friendly, hardworking, flexible and be willing to work in inclement weather. Ski & Snowboard School Staff spend extended periods of time with our guests and are vital in their mountain experience at Kirkwood.
Certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor
We have limited positions available for both full and part time instructors with certification or previous teaching experience. Duties include teaching both children and adults group and private lessons.
Full time training program for both teaching and riding improvement. Kirkwood has some of the best teaching and free riding terrain in Tahoe.
Non-Certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor
Full and Part time positions available for those with limited or no teaching experience. Applicants must be proficient on intermediate terrain. Those who are interested in becoming an instructor at Kirkwood will be required to attend our Instructor Training Program. (This is a link to our ITP page)
Ski & Board School Sales Staff
We are looking for friendly, outgoing, flexible and customer service oriented individuals to work both full and part time with our sales team. Duties include taking lesson reservations, answering phones, selling products and providing accurate information to our guests. Basic computer skills, multi-tasking and cash handling experience a must.
Ski & Board School Administration Assistant
Applicants must have strong typing and computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office, including word, PowerPoint and excel. Must be capable of multi-tasking while paying attention to detail. Must be friendly, outgoing, and flexible with good telephone and written communication skills. Part time with option for full time employment available.
Expedition Kirkwood: Kid’s Development Team Coaches
We are looking for certified coaches or individuals with previous coaching experience to work with our weekly kids development program, ages 6 – 11 years old. Must have advance skiing skills with an outgoing, fun and energetic personality. Previous experience working with kids a must. Kids ski Saturdays and Sunday for most of the season. Part time with options for full time employment available.
Expedition Kirkwood: Junior Freeride Team Coach
We are looking for certified coaches with previous experience to work with our in-valley and traveling freeride team kids. Must have experience with USSA, USASA and other competitive organizations. Coaches must possess teaching knowledge of both park and all mountain skiing, to include skier cross, halfpipe and gate racing. Part time positions with option for full time employment available.
Ski Patrol
Skier and snowboarder safety is Ski Patrol’s chief concern. They
are responsible for conducting immediate first aid and transporting injured
skiers to our mountain clinic, performing snow safety and avalanche control
each and every morning it is needed. Ski Patrol enforces safety throughout
the mountain for all skiers and riders.
Ski Patroller:
Advanced or expert skiing ability is required and applicants must
be able to carry out tasks in extreme skiing and weather conditions.
Applicants must have a current First Responder certificate with EMT certification
being the preferred requirement. Prior Ski Patroller experience
is needed. Limited number of positions available.
Snowmaking
Our snowmaking capabilities allow us to make a substantial base of snow
early in the winter season. Snowmakers primarily work outside and during
the night in below freezing temperatures. The snowmaking season generally
starts at the beginning of November and continues until we get enough
of the “real stuff”.
Snowmakers: Operating
and maintaining snowmaking equipment.
Experience preferred, training provided.
Must be safety oriented and able
to work night shifts.
Snow Removal
Our Snow Removal department comes through for us during and after every
Kirkwood snowstorm! Heavy equipment pushes and removes large amounts
of snow in order to allow our employees and guests to get into Kirkwood
to enjoy the fresh powder.
Equipment Operators: Operating
Loaders, snow blowers and graders.
Applicants must have experience and
a valid drivers license. DMV record
check required.
Trail Maintenance
Trail Maintenance operates state of the art machines manned by a skilled
grooming team to lay down miles and miles of fresh corduroy each night.
That famous Kirkwood snow packs down to the softest, smoothest surface
around, making all levels of skiers happy.
Groomers: Safely and efficiently groom all Kirkwood trails. Knowledge
of avalanche dangers and snowcat operations. Must be able to arrive to
work on time, shovel snow, follow instructions and work graveyard or
swing shift. Experience preferred. Must have a valid drivers license.
DMV record check is required.
Tickets and Season Pass Office
Great team atmosphere, 2,000 feet of vertical terrain with 2 new lifts, commissions, free season pass, ride breaks in America’s Deepest Snow, and flexible scheduling available in the ticket/season pass department. All positions within the ticket and season pass department are extremely sales oriented and require excellent sales and guest service skills. All applicants must be able to achieve sales goals and quotas while upholding guest service standards. A more in depth job description is available upon request.
Ticket Agent (Level 1)- Agent is responsible for selling and distribution of daily lift tickets, up-selling, answering questions via phone and in person, and keeping area clean and tidy. Must be able to keep their cool while in a high paced stressful environment.
Season Pass Agent (Level 2)- Agent is responsible for the selling and distribution of season passes and lift tickets. This includes the handling of sensitive information and legal documents. Agents must be able to up-sell while achieving a high standard of guest service.
Special Agent ( Level 3)- Agent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and staff at assigned location. Deals with and offers solutions for guest issues. Handles special tickets and is responsible for balancing cash drawers at the end of the day. Position may require selling tickets and season passes from time to time.
Ticket Concierge (Level 4)- Agents are responsible for ensuring the guest experience. Must have outstanding guest service skills with the ability to turn problems into profit. In charge of cross training and making sure all employees are aware of the in’s and out’s of Kirkwood. Works closely with our Guest Service department and HR to ensure both guest and employee experiences.
Front Line Supervisor- This person will work directly with all levels of Kirkwood management and is responsible for overseeing all ticket locations and staff. Will be asked to assist in payroll, scheduling, reporting, and other office duties. Will help plan and execute employee parties and meetings. May be asked to sell tickets and passes from time to time.
