A video Competition and year-end showcase honoring Sam Armanino, beloved member of the Kirkwood community, founder of Squid and Friends Collective, and an exceptional videographer.
Capture your season at Kirkwood and submit your short film for a chance to be featured, recognized, and voted on by the community.
Submission Guidelines -
Video Requirements:
Films must be under 3 minutes long.
Who Can Enter
Anyone and everyone. We want to see the joy, adventure, and personal stories from people who embody what Sam stood for and the spirit of Kirkwood.
Submission Timeline
Videos may be filmed anytime during the season. All entries must be submitted by April 5th.
How to Submit
All films must be submitted through Kirkwood’s website.
Judging & Voting
At the end of the season, the Squid Board will select the top films. The public will then vote to determine the overall winners. Awards will be presented across multiple categories, including: Sam’s Legacy Award, Best Follow Cam, Best Trick, Best Crash, Best Backcountry Segment, Best Kirkwood Segment, All Killer/No Filler, Most Creative, Up and Comers (U19), and Groms (U15). Judges will evaluate films based on overall production quality, dynamic camera work, style, personality, and on-screen presence. Selected films will be shown at the year-end film showcase, where final rankings will be decided through public voting.
SQUID Showcase: Top films will be screened at the season -end Showcase in the Red Cliffs Club on April 18th from 3:30pm–6:30pm. Food and drinks will be available, and admission is free.
