Kirkwood Mountain Sports has several locations, all just minutes from the main resort area. The flagship store is located in the heart of the village at the base of the resort, so it’s the perfect place to stop before you hit the slopes. The Timber Creek location is situated in the resort, directly across from the Children’s Ski and Ride School and Snowshoe Thompson’s Bar & Grill. 

The General Store 

No Kirkwood shopping expedition is complete without a trip to The General Store. This famous one-stop Kirkwood shop is located in Red Cliffs Lodge, just minutes from the resort. Whether you’re looking for groceries, grab-and-go sandwiches and snacks, or a case of craft beer, you’ll find it here. 

The General Store features a deli that’s stocked full of delicious meats, cheeses, and coffees, including a must-try espresso blend. And if you’re looking for frozen foods to heat and eat in your lodgings, there’s a wide variety of favorites, plus natural and organic pizzas, entrées, and desserts. In addition, there’s a large selection of wines, beers, and liquors, including local and regional brands that you’ll want to try.

Kirkwood Mountain Sports Demo Center 

If you’re looking for a huge selection of top-quality sports clothes, outdoor wear, and climbing gear, you’ll want to stop by Kirkwood Mountain Sports Demo Center. Located in the heart of the village and close to the slopes, this locals’ favorite has a wide selection of apparel and equipment, both for sale and for rent. You’ll find top-quality gear from nationally known brands, plus an expert staff that can help you get the perfect fit. And if snow or weather conditions change during your rental period, you can swap out your rental items for more weather-appropriate gear. 

One of the perks of shopping at the Demo Center is its “try before you buy” program. There’s a full line of demo skis from brands like Blizzard, Salomon, Volkl, K2, and Rossignol. You’ll also find high-performance ski and snowboarding boots from makers like Lange, Saloman, and Tecnica.
