Our beginner trails offer an enjoyable and safe learning experience, with gradual slopes and well-groomed runs to help you build confidence amid breathtaking mountain views.

Start your day at Timber Creek area—the hub for beginner skiing and snowboarding at Kirkwood. This area provides a stress-free setting where you can practice turns, stops, while getting comfortable on the mountain. With easy access to beginner friendly runs ranging from greens to blues and terrain-based trails, Timber Creek is the perfect place to learn and progress on naturally varied terrain.

Start out on School Run. Squirrel Ridge, and Funny Bunny where you can practice turns and stops without pressure. As you gain confidence, head to the Gold Rush Adventure Zone and Graduation for more! Once you are ready to transition to intermediate trails, take TC Express located at the base of Timber Creek to level up with more challenging blue runs like Ditch of Doom and Trench of Terror! Don’t be afraid of the names, these blues are favorites amount beginner skiers and riders ready to take the next step!

Timber Creek Lodge is your go to stop for rentals, food & beverage, and is the meeting place for Ski and Ride School. Located just down the road from main village, parents can drop their kids at Timber Lodge for a day of ski school while they explore the mountain their way! At the end of the day, take “Home Run” to meet up on the mountain.
